Anyone following Lewis Hamilton's debut with Scuderia Ferrari may have noticed that the Briton lacks his usual idiocy this time. Elegant, measured, almost exemplary. Like a true athlete! It seems as if he's not doing all this of his own free will...
The seven-time world champion has also tried to influence the Italian team with certain interesting things, including an unannounced agreement with a clothing sponsor. During testing last week, Hamilton announced that he would be the face and ambassador of the fashion brand Lululemon. However, he forgot to inform Scuderia Ferrari and the team's official clothing partner, Puma. The Germans were so upset by this move that Ferrari President John Elkann reportedly had to calm things down.
Eventually, with Elkann's special permission, Hamilton was allowed to work with the company, but only on the condition that he consider Puma's business interests in the future. The consequence of the dispute was that Hamilton was forced to dress modestly (i.e., without any polarizing extreme appearances) in Bahrain, and we saw him every single day wearing the official Scuderia Ferrari Puma kit.
