They did not wait for the collective tests on Wednesday, but unveiled their new car yesterday evening, which they will take to the track tomorrow in Bahrain as part of a filming day.
The team chose its usual online presentation, during which graphics of the AMR25 were released. According to Fernando Alonso, this model is 95% different from last year's. The sidepods and the front wing, which has undergone extensive redesign, have been modified. The goal is to achieve better speed than ever before in the slower corners. The cooling system, the engine cover, and the overall appearance have also been improved with a focus on the efficiency of the aero package.
All these modifications were made to improve the car's drivability and avoid the difficulties of last year, when Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll suffered greatly. With the above-mentioned innovations, Aston Martin could not only achieve the hoped-for competitiveness but also be stronger on more technically demanding tracks, which were a weak point last year.
"With this year's car, we've taken advantage of all the lessons and feedback from last season. Our goal was to give Lance and Fernando a much better-handling car, and we've worked hard to keep it under control and reliable," explained Andy Cowell, the head of the green team.
