Qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix is coming soon, and one of the favorites could be Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes.
We in the editorial team consider him one of the favorites, but his former teammate and world champion sees things quite differently. Jenson Button believes Hamilton is simply too old and too slow for qualifying! That's a harsh statement, but not without foundation. To date, only one person has beaten the seven-time world champion in qualifying, and that was Nico Rosberg. In 2014, the overall result was 12-7 in favor of Rosberg, but this season, Hamilton, who will be a Ferrari driver next year, suffered a much heavier defeat at the hands of George Russell:
"Lewis is almost 40, perhaps that's why he fell behind in qualifying. No matter how high his performance is, no matter how good his reflexes are, he can't compete with the younger guys anymore. He's too old for that, he can't hold them for a single lap, and he probably finds it very difficult to accept that his opponents are not only faster and fresher, but also more consistent." Button was brutally honest about his former rival.

Has he really grown old? Soon, the answer will be revealed...
