Pierre Gasly has come up with a rather surprising prediction. The French driver believes that the fortunate alignment of the stars, along with the major rule changes in 2026, could create serious opportunities for Alpine!
The unanimous opinion in the paddock is that Mercedes, with extensive experience in this area, is at the forefront of powertrain developments for 2026. Pierre Gasly knows this well, as well as the fact that someone who achieves outstanding results in the powertrain area could have a serious chance in the final standings. And from 2026, Mercedes will be the engine supplier for Alpine.
"I'm very excited about what will happen, because 2026 will be a huge opportunity where I can potentially win the World Championship. That's why I'm preparing hard for next season. There's no room for misunderstanding; I'll do everything in my power to be successful in 2025, too, but where I finish this year is absolutely irrelevant; it doesn't concern me. The team and I are aware of what we can achieve this year and what we want to achieve next year, so we've already defined the strategy we're working on. As I said at the London presentation, if I could decide, I would put all our people and all our resources behind the 2026 program right now. Next year, we want to fight for podiums and victories; that's our goal!" the Frenchman declared resolutely.
