Lewis Hamilton has made it clear that he did not come to Maranello to end his career, but on the contrary: he wants to be the person with whom Scuderia Ferrari becomes world champion for the first time since 2007.
If anyone has experience in winning the championship with a team that once saw better days, it's the Brit. He wants to capitalize on that, and even if he succeeds, he won't retire. Quite the opposite!
"A world championship title with Scuderia Ferrari wouldn't be my eighth, but rather my first. Yes, I want to win a championship with Ferrari, for Ferrari, and that's what I'm working on right now. I'm not at all thinking that this could be the eighth, breaking all records; I'm pursuing this dream as if it were my first. Although the team has won many titles before, they haven't managed to do so for some time, and I see it as my mission to help them achieve this. I'm here and I will be there to help us win; all my thoughts are focused on how I can be as helpful as possible in achieving our goal. If I succeed and win another world championship title, I certainly won't retire. I can't imagine stopping..." - said Lewis Hamilton.
Fasten your seatbelts, the ninth is coming?
