We all remember the chaos of last year's Brazilian Grand Prix, the postponed qualifying, and the accidents. Well, all of that wasn't without consequences...
Therefore, a new rule for F1 qualifying was introduced. Regarding the aforementioned qualifying, most of the discussion centered on how and on what basis the starting grid would be determined in the event of a failure to conduct it.
The reaction to the events of last year is already evident here, as it is stipulated that if a similar situation arises from 2025 onwards, in which qualifying cannot be held, the rule states that the drivers will start according to the status of their individual world championships.
But what happens if all this happens at the first race of the year, when there's still no World Championship points standings? Well, in that case, the FIA race stewards will decide the starting grid. How they will do this is still unknown, but it probably goes without saying that this decision will spark incredible debate...
