Lando Norris dominated the sprint race on Saturday afternoon at the Qatar Grand Prix, but handed the victory to his teammate Oscar Piastri on the final lap.
The two McLarens got off to an excellent start, with Lando Norris immediately pulling away from the opposition. In the rear, it was interesting to observe Max Verstappen's difficulties; the newly crowned world champion couldn't break past Pierre Gasly until lap four. He only managed to do so on lap eight, which isn't something we're used to seeing from him. Speaking of Red Bull Racing, we should also mention Sergio Perez's "performance." He couldn't even overtake Franco Collapinto, who was starting from the pits (instead, the Argentinian overtook him immediately), and ended up in 19th place. It's worth noting that the fact that someone has been a Formula 1 driver for so long and is a member of the Red Bull team is beginning to reach the limits of the unbelievable. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc, after a spectacular battle with Lewis Hamilton, managed to finish fifth, so we saw a sequence of McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari. In the end, not much changed, except that Lando Norris handed over the victory to Oscar Piastri on the last lap, while George Russell still made it onto the podium.
