Marko: "We know that Max isn't happy with us..."

Marko: "Wir wissen, dass Max bei uns nicht glücklich ist..."

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Helmut Marko and his team once again pulled a typical, Red Bull Racing-esque stunt this week by firing Liam Lawson after just two races. This doesn't please the aforementioned driver either.

Team icon Max Verstappen is also anything but happy about this. Verstappen has already given numerous signs that he is dissatisfied with his situation at RBR, so perhaps this will push him in a different direction...

"We're aware that Max isn't happy right now. But he also needs to understand that we need two cars, and not just for the Constructors' Championship. Rather, to help him win another world championship. Strategically, we need both cars to be present at the front, and we hope Yuki Tsunoda lives up to the expectations placed on him. Yuki arrives in good form, and if he can show that here, it will benefit Max. We didn't pick him before because he wasn't consistent enough. Lawson, on the other hand, crumbled under pressure, went into a negative spiral, and couldn't get out. He got into a situation like a boxer being counted out. We made a mistake by not recognizing this weakness earlier," said Marko, likely giving new impetus to the Verstappen/Aston Martin "rumors."
