This is where Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 dreams end; the young driver has now officially severed almost all ties with his last support, the Mercedes team.

The young German has practically said that his F1 dreams are over. From the end of the year, he will no longer take on a role as a reserve driver in the team, and he definitely sees his future career in the WEC (World Endurance Championship):

"I'm very grateful to Toto Wolff and the entire Mercedes-AMG Petronas family for having me on board over the past two years and for allowing me to gain insight into teamwork. This opportunity has undoubtedly made me a much more experienced driver, and I've gotten to know the engineering side of racing better. However, at the same time, it was a difficult and painful time for me. It's a bad feeling to only see these cars and not drive them; it's hard for me to process that, so I had to take action. Going forward, I want to focus 100 percent on racing and fully commit to the sporting aspect of motorsport. As a driver, your goal is to constantly be on the track and prove yourself, because we all chase that feeling." Mick Schumacher, who plans to move to Alpine, gave some insight into the background of his decision. His only hope may be the arrival of General Motors in 2026.

Or not...
