These days, many are analyzing Liam Lawson's weak start to the season in different ways. However, former team principal Giancarlo Minardi disagrees with the public's opinion. In his opinion, Lawson is not responsible for his performance.
Rather, it is Max Verstappen who, despite his undeniable successes, has put the Red Bull Racing team in a difficult position. Verstappen is the center around which everything rests, making it very difficult to assert himself:
"At Red Bull, it's not the problems that cause a driver's weakness that most people think or talk about. As Verstappen's teammate, everyone has a huge disadvantage, and not because the Dutchman is so incredibly good. Rather, it's because everything, down to the last screw, is tailored and adjusted to him, and all of his previous teammates have suffered because of this. And Liam Lawson can't deal with that now, either. Simply put, in an ideal situation, you shouldn't allow that to happen, but due to the influence of his successes, Max already has so much power that he can simply lobby his way out of it," the Italian veteran defended the young Lawson.
