It wasn't an easy weekend at the Australian Grand Prix, but McLaren, and especially Lando Norris, managed to win with exemplary professionalism, never letting go of the chance of victory for a moment. Woking isn't above expecting similar successes in the future...
Lando Norris put it into words when he declared: In 2025, the best will be McLaren, and whoever wants to become world champion must beat them:
"We know we still have a lot of work to do on this car. We can't rest on our laurels; if we let up in this situation, we'll lose. Just when we think everything's fine, they'll overtake us. We won't do that favor!
However, we see and feel that we are the favorites this year; the team has done a sensational job, and our car is running really well. But we are aware that there will be races where we will also suffer. For example, if Bahrain had been the season opener, I don't think we would have won... But it is a fact that this year we will be the team to beat if anyone wants to challenge for the world championship title. We have two drivers at the front who will push each other, and Oscar Piastri will not be doing himself the favor of making many mistakes. We already performed strongly in qualifying because we motivated each other and squeezed every last tenth out of the car. So, the car is good, but our team is also very strong, and this is just the beginning," Norris pointed out.
