Sainz: “I want to help Ferrari win the constructors’ title!”

Sainz: „Ich möchte Ferrari zum Konstrukteurstitel verhelfen!”

After the Mexican Grand Prix, many will shake their heads: Will Carlos Sainz really be fired at the end of the season? Yes, he will be fired, and Lewis Hamilton will take his place, but Sainz is handling it professionally and with his head held high.

And he's embellishing his farewell with victories. In fact, he would like to leave Scuderia Ferrari with a Constructors' World Championship title:

"It's been a very strange and challenging year for me. It started off difficult; we weren't really competitive, and development was slow, and then suddenly we reached the point where we wanted to be. Suddenly, we were back in the race for victories, but Charles Leclerc was able to capitalize on those opportunities, even though I also desperately wanted to win. I didn't want to leave Scuderia Ferrari without a win. At the beginning of the year, it would have been easy to lose my motivation and desire to see it all through. But fortunately, right at that time, a three-week break came along, allowing me to recover and regain my determination. In the last five or six races, I've been able to recharge, improve my racing, and trust the car more, and I'm proud of how I've handled it. Now I'm just focused on us winning the Constructors' Championship. That would be a perfect farewell for me!" said the Spanish star.
