Even before the 2025 racing season has begun, George Russell could already be the first in something. There's a strong possibility that he'll be the one the FIA will make an example of with its new swear word regulations.
The Mercedes driver let slip on the first day of testing in Bahrain, where he told the streaming service Viaplay about the day's power outage: "Oh shit, the lights are out."
This put him in the crosshairs of the new regulations, which are investigating whether he caused moral damage to the FIA, the reputation of the organization, its members, officials, and generally to motorsport. Damn funny! If the charges are upheld, Russell will be fined €40,000 for this minor remark. Should he continue to swear, this could rise to as much as €120,000, followed by points deductions and possibly a one-month ban. Based on this, Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen won't even have to start in 2025...
