Based on the tests in Bahrain, it became clear that Charles Leclerc was better than Lewis Hamilton in every aspect. Dr. Helmut Marko believes that while Hamilton is capable of making sudden, unexpected, major improvements, if he doesn't, it's over for him...
Ralf Schumacher, a pundit for Sky Sport F1, doesn't understand the hysteria surrounding Hamilton. In light of the test results, he finds the condition particularly schizophrenic, especially what's happening in public:
"You can't expect great things from him. Even by the most optimistic estimates, Hamilton is three to four tenths short, but it's also true that this isn't a tragedy at this point. Perhaps he still needs to get used to the car, his new situation, etc. What's happening right now is like an earthquake; everyone sees him as the messiah. He's a seven-time world champion who obviously switched teams because he wants to fight for the world championship again. Theoretically, he'll be able to do it, but I'm sure it won't happen in his first year. I think anyone who expects that from him is living in a dream world. At the same time, if Charles Leclerc is consistently better than him and will continue to be, it's perfectly clear that this is the end for Lewis Hamilton; he's past his peak. And we all know that Scuderia Ferrari isn't particularly patient with underperforming drivers... Ultimately, Ferrari could be the team that buries Lewis's career. The opposite could also be the case if Lewis Hamilton were to defeat Charles Leclerc. But I see little chance of that happening," reflected Ralf Schumacher.
