New elections will be held in the Automobile Sports Association in December, and it now looks very likely that Sulayem will have another strong challenger in addition to the dissatisfaction.
It was his idea to introduce the most childish measure in the history of the sport: the punishment of swearing drivers, which was even made more severe until 2025. Then there's the rape of the Monaco Grand Prix with additional pit stops, to mention just the tip of the iceberg. Not to mention the fact that a number of valuable professionals have left the federation due to the sporting director's dictatorial behavior. More and more people are of the opinion that the FIA is already "no longer a free organization," which raises serious concerns.
According to some media reports, Susie Wolff is seriously considering running for president. Toto Wolff's wife also has a personal wound, a concern regarding Sulayem, as the latter (allegedly) had the Wolffs investigated for conflict of interest in 2023. The incident caused so much outrage that the FIA's first man quickly backtracked, but the thorn in the side is certainly still there. Sulayem has so far responded only by saying that he's happy to have a female challenger in the election.
