The tail-ender duo say goodbye together, their places are taken by the previously announced/rumored duo Nico Hülkenberg - Gabriel Bortoleto.
Guanyu Zhou's performance has been virtually nonexistent recently; the Chinese driver hasn't shown the qualities one would generally expect from a Formula 1 driver. Valtteri Bottas's light has also long since faded; the Finn seems somewhat broken, so the decision by Stake's decision-makers is entirely understandable.
"Based on our honest and open discussions with Guanyu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas, we have come to the conclusion that our joint work cannot continue because the conditions cannot be met. Therefore, we have decided to part ways. At the same time, we would like to emphasize that we owe both of them a huge debt of gratitude for what they have done for the team over the past three years. They are true professionals who handle both success and failure with grace, and whose experience and enthusiasm have significantly supported the team in becoming stronger and more competitive," the team said in a statement.
So two Formula 1 careers ended quietly, as we see little chance that these names will ever be on the starting line again.
