The Mexican Grand Prix continued with a special section where the field tested the 2025 Pirelli compounds. Once again, we didn't escape without a red flag, this time with George Russell crashing the Mercedes.
Free practice had barely begun when Russell lost control of his car exiting a corner and suffered a serious accident. At the time, we had no idea that this would be the most exciting moment of the session and that we would have to worry about Russell's health, as he complained of pain in his ribs for the rest of the session. This was precisely the situation during the Pirelli tire test, which was monotonous, boring, and quiet, with the drivers using unmarked tires. Therefore, we didn't really know who was using which compound; at most, we could only guess from the time results. Only towards the end of the session did a few medium tires appear here and there, something only those who hadn't participated in FP1 could do, but that didn't change the overall picture. FP2 was ultimately won by Carlos Sainz ahead of Oscar Piastri and Yuki Tsunoda, but today we were no wiser regarding the balance of power.
